Our culture of safety

Taking care of your kids is our first priority at CRU Camps.

A commitment to a safe & supportive camp experience

At CRU Camps, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of your children is our top priority. We are dedicated to creating a secure environment where kids can thrive, make friends, and enjoy themselves.

With a ratio of one leader for every five campers, we ensure personalised attention and support throughout the camp. We actively promote a positive, inclusive atmosphere by fostering confidence and preventing bullying or anti-social behaviour. For younger campers, parent volunteers are present to offer additional emotional support.

Since 1930, CRU has upheld a strong record of child protection, with leaders trained in Child Protection and adhering to government regulations.

  • A minimum of two Senior First Aid Officers are on every camp.
  • All recreational activities (such as abseiling or archery) are assessed for risk and run by qualified instructors.
  • Our leaders take all reasonable steps to ensure all campers wear appropriate clothing and sun protection for activities.
  • We provide wholesome, nutritious food for campers (including most special dietary needs) to give your kids the energy they need for active, outdoor fun.
  • All CRU Camps are drug and alcohol free.

  • With one leader for every five campers, we provide unequaled care for your kids throughout the week.
  • We aim to encourage campers and build up their confidence and so we do not tolerate bullying or anti-social behaviour.
  • 'Camp parents' attend camps for primary school aged children to provide extra emotional support for younger campers.

Our camps encourage the development of your child’s body, mind and spirit. Each day, interactive Bible talks and small group discussions help your child to explore faith and investigate the claims of the Bible.

  • Since 1930, CRU has had an exemplary record of caring for children. We have strong and established child protection procedures.
  • All leaders must complete Child Protection Training and comply with government Working with Children regulations. See our full Child Protection Statement.
